Home to Me

When I sit on my chair, I can see my window and out of my window I can see five tall buildings. Three of them are the same size as mine and the other two are taller than mine. When I look down further, I can see a park. Now that it is winter there are no kids, but in the summer there are so many kids playing in the park on the slides and the swings and the huge spider web. When I sit on my chair, I can smell freshly baked cookies from the oven. When my mom brings the cookies I smell them. Then when I am done smelling them I start to gulp them up. When I eat them, I can taste the chocolate chips melting in my mouth. Sometimes my dad spins me on the chair really fast and sometimes I like it and sometimes I do not. When I sit on my chair, I can feel the smooth armrest and sometimes I can feel bumps on the wheels. When the wheels are rolling, I can feel them go on top of things and make a bump. Home also feels like a place that is safe and comfortable. Home does not have to be yours. It can be at a grandparent’s home, an auntie and uncle’s home, a hotel, a party. Home can be wherever your family is too.
