The Meaning of Home

My family and I moved to Canada 6 years ago we took a leap of faith, and left our home, family and friends back in India to start a new chapter. From having my Grandparents and family in the neighborhood my world was reduced to just me and so my parents. I was just 3 years old and at this early age I started to understand the meaning of home. We arrived in Toronto, and since then, have moved home 4 times. Each time I had to get used to the new city, make new friends, at school and say goodbye to the old ones. This wasn't easy, but some things stayed the same; when I fell my mom helped me up, and put a avengers band-aid for me, when I wanted to learn guitar my dad spent hours teaching me, when I didn’t get sleep my parents comforted me, when I wanted different food my parents made my favorite dishes. From all this I have learnt that wherever my family goes that’s where my home is; as long as my friends and family are around me I feel, comfortable, safe and loved. That’s what I think home is.
