The Meaning of Home

The Meaning of Home Home is being wrapped in a big hug by your mother, or going to get ice cream with your father. Home is a feeling like no other, sort of like walking through an empty park in the spring, with the birds chirping and the bees quietly humming, where you can hardly hear anything except for your own thoughts. Home is a place to relax, to calm down, home is where I feel cozy, comforted, warm and safe and rosy. The word “Home” is so beautiful, I love the way it feels in my mouth, the way it sounds so caring and kind on the tip of my tongue. When I think of home I think of being 6. I think of running around the lawn with my cousins in summer, the cool moist dirt feeling soothing on my nice warm feet. The lines on the doors, where others might just see years or months, I see me in the past looking up at myself and smiling amazed at how much I’ve grown up and how tall I’ve gotten. Home is where my heart belongs, walls that hold our memories and laughs, a place to grow, and a place to rest. Home is where we shed tears when the world is cold. Home will always have a place for us, and never judge us, no matter what we do we can truly be ourselves. Home is a place of forgiveness and a place that will never run out of love. Home is a place that holds you tight, watches you grow over time and start a family. Home is always there even when others aren’t and home will never leave you. Home is my favourite place to be, don’t you agree?
