My Safe Space

Home is a sanctuary of the past present and future, it's where memories pass, and new ones are planted. Home is big fancy breakfasts on Sunday with beautiful instrumental music. Home is a house of green, red and blue with browns, golds and yellows with other colors too. Home is a yard full of dandelions and a lush garden with surrounding vines all over the posts. Home is where the stone wall, the assorted trees, the basement door and the front porch is where we drank lemonade and pop and had random conversations that lasted for hours. Home is where our trampoline used to lay and our chicken coop all long gone. Home is small birds chirping, an orange cat meowing and cows in the field with straw for miles. Home is 2 bathrooms where ideas strike and my bedroom where I scroll on YT on weekends at midnight. My bedroom is a getaway to pass and forget about the time. Home was a time when I looked outside with the sun shining in my face. Home is when I did and felt those things and at that moment I knew I was safe.
