Home Is Where I Belong

Home is a place where we plant sunflowers and tulips by the edge of my house. Where my grandma lives just down the street. The floorboards that creak whenever someone walks down the hall. A place where I play in a pink toy car with my little sister. Home is a place where it's safer than safe. A place where the greenest pool in the entire world lives. Home is a place where we bake German pancakes on the weekends and for my birthday. A place where my dad bakes my great-grandmother's bread recipe. Where we play on the slide covered in snow as shimmery as the sun. Home is a place covered in dog hair even though my dog died one year ago. A place where there's always an unfinished craft. Home is a place where anyone can be anything.
