Stop Thinking of Home as just a House
Home is a place of love when you're with your family and friends. Home could be on the street, in a small apartment, or in a house. It can be anywhere if you're with the people you love. It's where you go, through a journey together. It's when you're sad because of something at school or at work or because of anything, when you go home you turn that frown upside down. It's when jokes are made and so are laughs, and you're never shy. You can be yourself and don't need to keep secrets or pretend to be something you're not. It's where you can breathe and relax and not have to worry about something. When you can go to a sport or event with family and friends and get cheered on or you can cheer someone on and then go home with everyone. When a warm hug and kiss is all you need to get through a hard time. It's where your cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents and don’t forget friends, can all hang out and have a great time. Yes you fight with a sibling or friends or anyone, but you always get over it. A pet that you, your family and friends have all made a bond with and cared for and loved, that pet can be home to you as well. You might be thinking, 'What? That’s not what home means to me.' But that’s what it means to me—and to many others. So, if you're ever mad, sad, nervous, or feeling anything else, stop thinking of home as just a house. Think of it as your family, friends, and everyone you love. If I had to explain home in two words it would be love and family because love and family is home.
