A Protest for Hope
What if I told you six in ten people don’t have a house in Toronto
What if I told you some of us live on the ground
What if I told you that we need walls around us
Would you listen?
What if I told you we don’t have privacy
That we need more than a tent or a church for shelter
What if I told you we need more hope, motivation, and endurance
Would you listen?
We all have had doors closing, possibilities lost
Our lives have been shaken
Our dreams all gone
But what if I told you there's still hope?
What if I told you walls are building ‘round
Our lives are looking up
We can still have faith
But yet, it's coming; be patient, young one
Now that morning is near.
