Meaning of Home
There are many things that mean home. Before I knew the real definition of home, I just thought that home was just another word for house, but there is more. House is just a place where you live, but a home is just so much more. Hello, my name is Arisha, I am 12 years old, and in this essay, you will find out about what is my definition of a home, why it is different from a house, and a little personal story about my journey of finding a perfect home.
What is the definition of a home? On Google it says it is the place where someone lives permanently, but I do not think that is what the definition of a home is. Home is so much more than just another word for house. For different people, home means different things. To me, home means when I am with my family. Because when I am with them anywhere on the globe, I am home. To my friends when they are in their room or when with their siblings, they are home. To you a home can mean anything it can be a house or an apartment, but it could also be a tent, a boat, or an underground cave, if you feel comfortable with it.
Why is a home different from a house? A house and a home are two different things. The reason they are different is because a house is just a place where somebody lives permanently. A home lasts forever or at least forever in your heart.
Now it is time for my little personal story of finding a perfect home. It all starts when I was just 5 years old. I was living in Peace River, Alberta. We had a house, and I thought I would live here forever. But no, my little house was short lived, and I moved to Port Coquitlam with my cousins Esra and Haroun. It was my first time meeting them and we had so much fun. Clearly my mom and dad liked it here, so we moved to New Westminster, moved again to Abbotsford, moved to Surrey before a huge fire came into our building. And Surrey was a place that is still in my heart. I loved it there so much. I had many friends in our building. Together we used to do a lot of playdates and go to places together. In front of apartment building, we had a library and a city hall. I would go there every day and something new would happen. Like a festival, or a party something new would be happing there every day. We lived there for three years and moved here to North Vancouver. At first, I did not like it here. Our apartment was too small. (We were going to get a house, but just one day before we moved the owners told us that we could not move here because they were going tear down the house and build a new one.) afterward I realized that no matter where I moved my parents would always be there to support me. So, when I am with them, I am home.
That is all I must say. Thank you for reading this. This is what home means to me and i wonder what home means to you, Bye.
