What Home Means To Me

Houses can be big or small, white or red, brick or vinyl siding. There could be one person living in it or there could be eight, but no matter what it's made of or how many people live in it, most people still call it “Home”. But what if home is not the building, maybe it’s something entirely different? Home is where you belong. For most people they think that their home is their house but it doesn't have to be. Home could be a nice cafe, a church or something else. Home is where you are meant to be, where you're loved. Home for me it is my house, it’s where I can be me. Maybe, your thought of home is just four walls and a roof over your head, but it’s a lot different. If you think that, you're thinking of the word “house”. Home it’s not just a building, it's love, joy and peace. Also, home doesn't have to be a place, it can be a person. For me that’s my Mom or my Dad. They are home to me because they make me feel safe and loved. You might say, “How can a person be home?”but they can be home by being the person you belong with. So home doesn't even have to be a place, it could be a person. In conclusion, home is where you can be you, not just four walls and a roof over your head. Also, home can be a person as long as you are meant to be with them. You can be home even if you're not in your house. It's where you can say, “I am home.”
