Meaning of Home
My home is more than just a building alone.
It has lots of warmth and feelings that we can call our own.
But at the end of the day
Love is the one that makes me want to shout, “Hooray!”
Whether we are cuddled up on the couch, at a hockey rink or maybe at gymnastics,
We all come home at some point and it’s fantastic.
It’s when paradise starts,
and it fills my heart.
Home is where I said my first words, took my first steps, played with my first toys and slept in my first big girl bed.
Home was a bit crowded and overwhelming when I was young. But eight of us roaming around was kind of fun.
Now it’s shrunk down to half the size.
It happened so quickly I was surprised.
I thought I would be happy to have all the extra room to play, but I miss them all even if they live just half a mile away.
Sisters and brothers, I wish for them all,
to come back and live with us before the end of fall.
We could share all the memories that we made when we were younger,
We could make new ones, although my little brother might steal my thunder.
With his silly attitude and his cheeky smile,
He gets all the attention for awhile.
Having big sisters means they are always there for me,
Whether to give advice or just have a cup of tea.
My family is strong through love and through hate.
My house my home is just so great.
Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for giving people positivity throughout their home. Whether they’re big or small you help them all.
