What We Need is a Home
What is a home? Some may ask... A home is where memories are shared with the people we love, where there's nights with popcorn, and a movie with our loved ones.
A home isn't just four walls and a roof, it's where love is held, where warmth lingers in the air. It's where some of the funniest memories are held, but also where there are memories with you crying at the top of your lungs.
My home has become something more significant than just a place to sleep, where my mom cooks very delicious dishes, where I study, where I film movies with my siblings for fun, and where I hug my mom and dad each day before school.
A home is where special traditions are held, when it is okay to cry, a place with food on the table, with movies and popcorn, where you are yourself, where you're never hopeless, creating a feeling of warmth, when it keeps you safe, and most importantly where you're loved.
A home is where you may have a pet that keeps you company. It's where you have a backyard to play in. Where you sit by the campfire and listen to scary and funny stories with your family. Where you find new adventures in your backyard. Where you may have a sibling to play with in your backyard. Where there is fresh air.
Happiness, love, warmth, laughter, comfort, beautiful, family, homely, welcoming, fun, safe, joy, hugs, playing, traditions, cozy, being yourself, where it's ok to cry, smiles, a place with food on the table, never hopeless, a place with movies and popcorn with family, sleepovers with family and friends, that's what a home means to me and a lot more.
A home isn't just where you sleep, eat, go to school, and go to the bathroom. It's way more than that. That's why I thank Habitat for Humanity for building homes for people around the world that need it, and being full of positivity, so thanks Habitat of humanity for building a better nation.
