The Meaning of Home

The Meaning of Home A house and a home are two different things. A house is just a building with walls and windows, doors, a roof and furniture. But being home is a feeling, even if you’re not at your house. To me, home is the feeling you get when you feel safe and comfortable and loved. I have two houses. One in Barrie and one in Kleinberg. They both are different but they still make me feel like I’m at home. My home in Barrie is where I live most of the time and every other weekend I go to my home in Kleinberg. When I come home from school, I feel like I’m at home because I always see my cat Nigel sitting in his box waiting for me. I also feel like I’m at home because of my room. It is my own personal space where I can draw, read, play Fortnite and sleep. My Barrie house feels like home because of my family. We like to do fun things like building snowmen, watching movies and shows and playing on the Nintendo switch. When I am at my dad’s house, I feel at home because of my little sister Zoey. We do so many fun things together like building giant forts out of blankets and chairs in the living room and playing with stuffies and figures in our room. I also feel at home there because I get to spend time with my other family since I don’t see them that often. We like to do fun things like going outside, watching movies, and going swimming in the pool in the summer. I love my family very much and spending time with all of them in both places is what makes me feel like home.
