The Feelings of a Home

What is home? Home is what you feel, not where you are. To me home is baking delicious warm cookies with my Dad. Home is helping my Dad make a yummy healthy supper. Watching intense marvel movies, my dad and I. reading in my cozy bed with a fluffy blanket. A home is where you spend time with your family (whatever that means for you) happens. Home means safety and joy. Home means warm and cozy in the winter and cool and refreshing in the summer. The smell of wood from the flooring and the feeling of happiness that overwhelms me when I walk through the door. Sitting around the table eating supper with my family. Safety, comfort and happiness, the softness of my bed and calmness of my playroom. Home is a place where you feel loved, overjoyed and comfortable, sad, aggravated and tired, safe and at home. That is home. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for helping people find those feelings.
