H is for Happiness. When I wake up in the morning and my mom enters my bedroom to say, “Waffles for breakfast!" I get up as fast as I can and race down the stairs with a big smile on my face.
My brother is already downstairs wolfing down his waffles.
Mom gives me my waffles and I start eating.
After we finish eating, my brother and I get dressed to go outside, then we build a snow fort and have a snowball fight.
That is what happiness is in my home.
O is for Optimistic. As I’m running in cross country and I’m about to pass my parents and I hear them shout encouragement as I pass I smile at them and they smile back.
At the end of the race both of my parents congratulated me.
Optimism is a really nice feeling when it’s directed to you.
M is for Memories. The other day I remembered a time when I was young and I was on a dock watching dolphins jump and spin in the air.
We were with our friends and one of them said “They are very beautiful!” and they were.
Another memory is when I was ten and I was playing hockey and we came so close to beating a good Ottawa hockey team in the semifinals. On the way home I felt sad but I know that it was just a game.
Memories can be good and bad but good memories are what lasts.
E is for eagerness. “Hey Maddox,” said dad. “Do you want to throw the football?” I answered with a squeak of excitement and ran outside to get the football then we went outside and threw the football. At home eagerness is a great feeling to have.
