What's the difference between a home and house?

A little girl named Ellina asked her parents to buy a home and her little Sister Holly said, “No. Let's buy a house.” “Same thing!” said Ellina . Elina and Holly's mum said, “There is a difference between a home and a house”. Ellina said, “What difference?” Their mum said, “Follow me.” So they followed her. “Here is a house, a place to live, sleep, eat and do what you need,” their mum said. “But a home is not just a place but a feeling.” Holly said, “But you said not JUST a place but it is a place. Ellina asked, “I still don't understand. It's just a place to live.” “No,” their mum said, “A home is somewhere that makes you feel safe or a feeling that makes you happier. It's a place for you to be. A house is a place where you can be judged or uncomfortable”. “Oh!” Ellina and Holly said. “Can I say something about it?” Holly asked. “Sure,”their Mum said. “A house is a place you need to survive and a home is a feeling that makes you happy inside,” Holly said. Then their mum said “Yeah.” “My turn, my turn,” Ellina said. Ellina said, “A house is a place where people live and a home is a place where you can be you.’’ “Yep” their mum said “so we're all clear on a house and a home?” “Yeah!” Ellina and Holly said.
