The Meaning of Home

Hi, I’m a grade 6 student and this is what home means to me... Home is not just a building made of bricks. Home is not what can make you a millionaire just by selling it. Home is not just a place where people just go there and do nothing, and the next day they come out to do their daily activities. Home might look like a boring old building, but it’s more than just that... Home is a safe place with love, joy, happiness and peace. (If your home or my home wasn't a safe place no one will be able to live in it and no one will be happy.) My home feels like a safe place because I have walls to protect me and a roof over my head. It’s also a safe place because it provides everything, I need to be safe in my home. Home is a place with good surroundings. It provides you with clean water, a place to cook and store food, bedrooms with at least one bed, a bathroom with a working toilet, sink and shower and working lights placed in all rooms. A home with good surroundings should be clean and have the materials you need to clean and wash stuff in your home. Home is a welcoming place that provides you with warmth when it is cold outside and cools you off when it’s hot outside, it’s always filled with joy, laughter and kindness all round. Home is a welcoming place with all these feelings and things in it but there is something missing. Home can’t be home without friends, family and neighbors to keep you company, all these things are what a home needs to be loved and feel like a happy, safe, welcoming and clean place. CONCLUSION: This truly is what home means to me.
