What Home Means To Me

What Home Means To Me ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When I think about what home means to me, I usually think first of family. To me, family means safe, loved, and most of all belonging. If I have a bad day, my family is there for me, and helps me feel better. I feel these emotions really strongly when my family has certain bonding moments. A bonding moment can be anything from playing in the yard with my siblings, to a big road trip. These bonding moments with my family really means a lot to me, and also to the rest of my family too. My family also makes me feel so safe at home, away from harm. My family is always there for me, helps me in times of trouble, and makes it seem as if it never happened. My family is an important part of home. Without family, home wouldn't be as happy, loving and warm. The food that I eat at home is important too, such as my moms homemade cornbread and baked beans; to me, Food that I eat at home means a lot. Certain people may not have this connection between food and home, but for me, certain foods are very attached to home.. Although, it is not just eating the food that makes home feel better, but also the experiences of making the food, like when me and my sister make cookies, they usually come out burnt, but the experience is a memory that I have had in my home. And memories that are made in my home make home a better place to remember. To me, home is more than just shelter; it is experiences, emotions, and love. Without these things, home would just be a plain shelter that keeps out the wind and rain. And a boring dismal place to stay.
