What Home Means To Me

What Home Means To Me To me my home is my happy place. Home is where I see my family and friends who mean a lot to me. I live with my Mom and Dad. I don’t have any siblings, but my aunts, uncles, cousin and grandparents live really close to me so I get to see them almost every day. We have a lot of family gatherings at my home where we play games, eat yummy food and talk. Home means love to me. When I am at home I feel safe. No one will hurt me or say mean things about me. My family and friends treat me with respect and make me feel good about myself. If I feel bad about myself, they will talk me through everything so that I know how to cope with the way I am feeling. They tell me what I do well, but they help me to work on the things that I don’t do well in a positive way. I wish I could stay home every day. At home I can do many of my favourite activities. I live on a lake so in the summer I can do a lot in the water. I enjoy swimming, fishing, boating and frogging. In the winter when the lake is frozen I like skating, playing hockey and ice fishing. I love my yard because I have a pool, a big hill for rolling or sledding down and a fire pit for roasting hotdogs and marshmallows. The trails and woods around my home are great for four-wheeling, hiking and riding my bike. My home is a place where I have fun. I love my home. It is a place where I feel safe, where I hang out with family and friends and I get to do fun activities.
