Meaning of Home

A home is more than a house. A house is structure, but a home is a place where you feel comfortable, and you are safe. Home is where I can smell pasta that is being made with the best pasta sauce on earth. Pots bubbling on the stove makes me feel at home. In the kitchen I smell some great food such as cookies, cake, banana bread and ice cream. Home is a place where people gather, laugh and share their thoughts. When I go into the living room I see my dogs chewing their dog toys and sometimes playing tug of war. The living room is where I watch TV and play board games. Home is where you gather and eat. I love when people say that my mom’s food is so good they think they are going to faint. Most of the time we have fancy meals with friends and family. The bedroom is a place where I dream, keep secrets in my journal and feel safe and comfortable. Some bedrooms are smaller than others but that is ok. A bedroom is where you have privacy. I just wanted to say thank you to Habitat for building homes for people.
