The Hope Of Home
The Hope Of Home
A house is a place,
but in homes, none of your memories go to space.
A house can be big and cool,
but a home can be your memories being dug up where they aren't left to drool.
Home is not just a place with many walls and a roof,
It’s not a place where you sleep and only goof,
It’s better than just bricks and being bizarre,
It’s where we have the most dreams that don’t go too far.
I enter the living room where my treasured memories start,
cherishing the days that touch my heart,
Looking back on my mistakes I had to restart,
I learned that nothing can break you apart.
I learned to walk, I learned to run,
and I also learned to have fun.
Not only did I learn to walk and run,
but I also learned to stand up when the time has come.
I enter the kitchen to laugh and eat,
this is where I shouldn't argue but compete.
As I enter the garden filled with plants growing row by row
I realise the progress I made ages ago,
In my heart I still know that home is my big glow.
