A Home is Not a House

A home is not a house; it is much more than just a house or a place to live. It is a feeling of comfort and safety. I can be myself without worrying about anything else. Home is a place to relax and have fun with family. The little things are what matter to me, the smell of my favorite food cooking, the voice of my siblings and parents, and the warmth of my bed, here I can curl up in a book or just think with my own thoughts. Home is a place to connect. It is where I share my highs and lows days with those who matter the most to me. Knowing that I am supported and understood by my family for any reason makes it easier to be me. The memories developed over the years and the experiences shared transformed the feelings of belonging. Whether it is laughter around the dinner table, moments of shared silence, or just being together, home is for me is wherever I have loved ones around me.
