What's a Home to Me

What is a home? In my opinion, a home is a place where I can express my feelings, feel safe, memories, show culture, parents/siblings/relatives, hold childhood/,and finally a place to be myself. Firstly, home is a place where I could express my feelings. This is because I don’t want to punch when I'm angry or cry in front of the public which for me is embarrassing. However, expressing my feelings at home, for example crying or getting angry then, I wouldn’t feel embarrassed because I'm all by myself. Secondly, home is a place where I feel safe no matter what. This is because in my home, I know where are the rooms, where to go if I needed to sleep or go to the bathroom ,and incase or emergency if i needed to escape my home if there were to be a fire, I know where to go. However, if I were in a house that I don't live in or know, I wouldn't know where to go incase or an emergency ,and I wouldn’t know where to go to sleep or go to the bathroom. Thirdly, home is a place where I have memories. This is because in my home, I have memories of when I was a kid playing with my sister ,and when I got hurt and had to go to the hospital. In addition, home is a place where I live with parents ,and siblings. This is where you can do anything with them like expressing my feelings with them, and most importantly, no matter what happens I always feel safe with them. Fourth, home is a place which holds childhood. This is because in my home, I would watch shows like Peppa Pig. However, if I were to go to another house,I wouldn’t watch it because it would be cringe because it’s for children. Fifth,home is a place where I could show my culture. For example, wearing cultural clothes because it feels embarrassing to wear it in front of Public then at home.In addition, I can eat cultural food like Kothu roti which is so delicious,also I could speak my language (Tamil) to my family instead of english. Finally,home is a place to be myself.This is because in Public,I would try to fit in with others,and read books that I don’t like to fit in. But, at my home it would be the opposite. I would be myself ,and I would read any books I want. Therefore, this is why home is a place where I can express my feelings,feel safe, have memories,show my culture,spend time with family,my childhood and finally, be able to be myself.
