The Home I Almost Lost

The meaning of my home is important to me because I did not always know where my home was going to be. Last year, I almost lost my home in Canada. Even though my family and I have lived in Canada for over five years we were almost forced to move back to Mexico. We had to sell all our furniture, including my bed. and mattress, everything that could not fit into one suitcase. I had to say goodbye to all my friends. I did not know if I would see them again. A couple of days before we were going to get on the plane back to Mexico, we found out we were allowed to stay. We had to start over. It was really hard for my family, but we had lots of help from friends. I realized that home isn't about furniture, but it's about the people who you love and who love you. It is a place that is warm, loving, safe and so much more. I love my home in Canada. I am so grateful that I have a home in Canada and people who helped us. That is the meaning of home to me.
