Home Sweet Home

Home is a safe space, my heart and joy. I walk in the door and look down at my cats. I grab treats out of my pocket and place them on the floor. My cats lean down to chomp on their chicken flavoured treats. The scent fills the air and their desperation disappears. I walk in the kitchen, and say hi to my family. I tell them about my day and think about how grateful I am for my family. The scent of the chicken flavoured treats leave the air, and the fragrant flowers have already taken place in this graceful space. The living room holds my memories, in its picture frames. I walk up the stairs with a hop in my step. I enter my room and take a seat at my desk. I look at funny photos and laugh as tears fill my eyes. I realised I just laughed so hard that I started to cry! My home means so much to me; it's not just a roof and some walls but it's my memories that continue to unfold. Everyone should know how a home feels. A place that holds my memories, but not just in its picture frames.
