The Meaning of Home

The Meaning of Home Written by Claire Home to me is much more then just a roof over my head. Home is a lot of places inside and out, home is somewhere I feel seen and somewhere I do not feel alone, home is also on the field playing soccer all day and spending all day in the burning hot at my soccer tournaments. Home can sometimes be at school when I can talk with friends share my thoughts and have a fun day, home can also be a feeling like I am not alone and feeling like I am seen at school. Home is at a friend’s house when they treat me like I live there, home is also at a friend’s house when I feel like I am a part of their family. Home is when I can go out and feed the horses or just be around them. Home is being with my best friends having fun, laughing overly and just sharing thoughts. Home can be the littlest things like when I am relaxed or when I am comfortable in my bed watching tv being around my family and over all being relaxed. Home to me is also being around my family and having yearly traditions, around Christmas time I always decorate the tree with my family and listen to Christmas music. On Christmas day we open our presents and then go to my grandparents for dinner which is always delicious. That is one of my favorite things to call home. Home does not have to be big exciting things it can just be the unimportant things that matter the most to you. Home can be feelings, or it can be places, home is not just your house although sometimes it may be. Home is where I feel safe and where I know I can be myself. Home is not just my house.
