Labrador Home
What home means to me is it's a place where I can talk about things that happened in school. I can share my day with my family. I live in Charlottetown, Labrador.
Charlottetown is on the South Coast of Labrador. We are a small fishing community. And we love the outdoors! It's a place with different cultures. I feel safe in Charlottetown because there are no bad people where I live. There are a lot of family and friends that live here. It is very special and we all help each other. I have four people in my family. They are my sister ,Mom, Dad ,and myself. Labrador is a place where there is a lot of history and land to hunt on.I do a lot of things at my age. I play volleyball and I’m only eleven years old. Sometimes I play hockey and badminton. I'm not old enough to go to tournaments. I wish I was old enough to play though. Soon!!
I like it here because I go hunting with my dad and snare rabbits. Snaring is putting some wire wrapped around a tree and stuck in the ground. You put the wire in a circle and when its night the rabbit will come threw .Once when my Dad and me were snaring rabbits, the rabbit was being smart. When a rabbit is being smart it means they know there's a snare there and they’ll show you they seen it because they will leave bunny buttons by the place you put the snare. When we get home, sometimes we have hot cocoa with marshmallows.
Home is a place where I have a roof over my head and a bed to go to at night. I have food that fills me up so I won't be hungry. I like to hunt because it means I get food from the animal just like my ancestors did. I have a TV that I watch shows on. Home is where I get comfortable and I am always loved for just who I am !
