Home to Me

Home to me is truly amazing laying on the grass out stargazing, looking up at the twinkling stars thinking we can see planets like Saturn or Mars. Drinking sweet tea in the summer telling secrets, cross our hearts we won’t tell no other. Sitting watching the fire glisten as we talk about our small town and just listen. I see my mom rocking to The Tragically Hip as she whips up dinner. The laughter fills the air, echoes of love beyond compare. Warm blankets wrap like hugs, beautiful aromas fly like ladybugs. Colours coat the walls in pink, yellow and blue. The footwear lays by the door shoe by shoe. As I wake up in the morning light a wagging tail and a little bark, such a cute sight. I give the dog a smile and he returns it back as I say, “I love you Max”. Me and my mom go shopping all day then come home at night and dance around the kitchen in the refrigerator light. Sledding with my friends in the winter having so much fun as we walk home to hot chocolate and yummy cinnamon buns! Late summer nights swimming in the pool, my dad shouts “Cannonball!” and a big wave splashes me as I yell “So cool!”. In all seriousness, as you can see all these memories are home to me. No matter the size of a house, big or small, I believe a home is for all.
