What Makes A House A Home

What makes a house, a “home”? A home is not special just because of what it looks like. A home is special because of the family inside it. A family does not have to be blood-related, but people who love you unconditionally. My parents, my sister, and my dog make my home special. The food that my dad cooks is filled with delicious scents that always bring a smile to my face. My sister’s wide smiles always bring us closer, even though we are ten years apart. My dog welcomes me with a wagging tail when I come home from school, church, and piano lessons, this makes me love being at home even more. I always spend time with my Mom playing board games, doing crafts, and curling my hair. I love the time we share together. When I practice my piano, the music fills my home, and my family enjoys the melodious tune. The memories we make in our home are like invisible picture frames hanging, decorating our walls. A home is a place where I can rest and rejuvenate. My cozy bed gives me a good night’s sleep. Sometimes though, I have a hard time waking up. But walking downstairs and seeing the rest of my family makes opening my eyes worth it. My home is a place where I feel safe. Houses come in different forms, shapes and sizes. But this one thing I know for sure, is that love lives in my home.
