Home is Where the Heart Is

We all have a house. A house is just bricks, but a home is more than bricks. At home I feel like myself. Home is where I feel noticed more than anywhere else. When I walk in the door I know where I belong. H is for helping. We love helping. If nobody helped the house will be a disaster. We need help to make our house a home. A couple of people cannot make a house, you need a squad. You need loved ones to make a home. O is for other people that love you. We all have someone that loves us, but what if there are more people that love you like your Aunts and Uncles? They love you, too. Your ancestors also love you, not just your parents that love you, but also your friends and family. M is for memories. We all have memories of us as a child and baby. We have so many memories. These are some of mine: like the first time you entered a pool or the first time you tried your favorite food. All my memories remind me of home. E is for everything. I move a lot but each house I move to takes a long time to make it a home. If you stay in a house, it is a home. You need a family to make a house, not random people. A home is more than bricks. Thank you, Habitat of Humanity, for the opportunity to write this piece, it means a lot.
