The Meaning of Home To Me
Home. It can be many things.
For me, it is warmth, both inside and out.
Warmth and comfort,
Whatever the weather may be.
It’s my heart,
Split in two,
Two places of home calling to me.
We left them behind, one by one,
Left friends and family,
Oh, how long ago it was!
A kitchen breathing with the smells of home.
Spices, masalas,
Deliciousness untold.
Both my homes are quite similar,
Places of love, peacefulness, and laughter.
A few best friends,
Now, left behind.
But if we meet again,
A solemn awkwardness may show.
My two homes,
As dear to me
As two parts of my heart
And paradise indeed.
If my world shall ever be
Shrouded in dark mist,
Four things will shine brighter than the sun:
My friends, family, and my two homes,
And wherever I go,
Those places I will always miss.
My two homes, diverse and unique.
One the place I was born,
The other, the place I was brought up.
They are both incredibly important to me,
Full of good, bad, and boring memories.
My two homes, where nostalgia is not rare,
Are Goa in India, and also in Asia, Singapore,
Both faraway there.
