What Even is Home?
If I was asked what home means to me, I would tell you that it would be a place where I can experience happiness. I feel it when cooking with my grandmother, I feel it when playing games with my brother. Happiness is the warmth in a home never dying out. I would say that home is a place where happiness can flourish and grow. It’s a warm feeling when I experience it. I might also say that love is something a home has. For example how loved I feel when being cheered on by my family at tournaments or how I feel when my mom takes care of me. Love is something that grows throughout a home like roots in the soil. A house is like firewood and love is the match that ignites it turning it into a home.
Comfort is what I would use to describe a home. To me comfort is a warm feeling like hot cocoa on a cold da ro watching movies with my family. Comfort to me is cuddling with my dog on the couch or curling up in a fuzzy blanket. Comfort is a flower and a home is like a bee searching for it , without it the bee doesn’t have its pollen, it isn’t complete.
A home can have sadness, sadness is something everyone experiences. It could be the sadness you feel when a pet dies or when you spill your ice cream. Sadness is natural like a fire, it can destroy the love you have built but that love only comes back stronger. Some people say that a forest fire makes it easier for wildlife to grow and be stronger. When the sadness comes, the love, happiness and comfort you feel will only burn brighter.
So if you asked me what a home is I would say that it can be sad or boring sometimes even stressful but it's also comforting and safe its a place where you can just be you. Any house has potential to be a home you just have to plant the seed of love so it can grow into a home.
