The Meaning of Home to Me

Home to me is more than some walls,windows and a roof. It’s feeling loved,safe,warm and happy. Home is where I can wake up seeing all the faces of the people I love. Home is where I can smell my moms delicious cooking which is better than any 5-star restaurant I’ve ever been to. Home is where I hear my dad annoying my mom and ask her repeatedly if she needs help, getting the same answer every time which is no. Home is where I feel happy just by seeing my whole family gathering around on a cold winter day with a million blankets, telling stories and sharing our past memories, whether it’s happy, sad, scary or funny. I always feel like I can tell my family anything. Home is where I feel safe and secure in my parents arms hearing the beating of their hearts. Home is where I fight with my siblings all day long, then ten minutes later we act like nothing ever happened because I realize that they are literally my best friends along with my parents. To me home is where my family and I look through our past and look forwards to our future never knowing what is planned for us. To me home is just like a safe and warm hug that I am thankful for every single day.
