WHAT HOME MEANS TO ME

To me, home isn't a place. Home isn't just a place to sleep and eat. Home is love. Home is warmth, on the inside of your body and the outside. To me home is family, friends and harmony. Home is my safe place. To me, home is warm and cozy. My cat's soft fur makes me feel safe. When I'm sad or feeling alone, home always makes me feel safe and calm. Home is music and laughter. With my mom practicing the violin, my dad practicing the guitar and me on the keyboard, music is an important part of my home. To me, home is a place to make memories. Like the time when I took my first steps in the living room, the marks on my bedroom wall from every time my mom and dad measured me and my little bumblebee boots. I know that home isn't just a place, but to me, home is this place. My house is my HOME. To me, home is people. My mom, my dad, my aunts, cousins and uncles. My Poppy and my grandma. My cats, Timbit, Beans and Cookie. My friends, like Aleia, are my family. I don't know what I'd do without them. They pick me up when I fall, and they are always there with a reassuring smile. For those reasons I consider them my home. To me, home is love. Wherever home is, for everyone it's love. Home is caring. Home is like the helping hand, I never knew I needed, but I'm only now realizing, it's the helping hand I've always wanted. Home is my favorite place. Home is my happy place. Home is where I live, home is where I sleep and eat. My home is the place where I grew up. I love my home.
