Home

As I walk through the front door, I’m met with bright lights, lively conversations, and the delicious smell of food being cooked. People are crowded around people who are in the middle of board games, sharing meals, and lounging on the couch. That is home. It’s a vibrant space exploding with creativity, love, and indescribable happiness. I sit down, taking it all in, and before long, I’m welcomed by those around me. They ask what I need, hand me a drink, and I savor the moment. This is home. After an enjoyable day, I head upstairs to a perfectly made bed that awaits my arrival. It’s the comfort that everybody dreams of. The next morning, I rise for work to the amazing smell of breakfast cooking, while others are gathered, eagerly waiting for the meal. I sat down, greeted with smiles and cheerful hellos. There’s a noticeable sense of joy in the air. That is home. Stepping outside, I take in the sight of the trees and the beautiful sunrise. They walk outside with some food and a picnic blanket. We enjoy a picnic where laughter fills the air and everyone enjoys good food together. Each day in this home feels better than the last. That is home. The word "home" is a word that is known with a sense of safety and security. It’s a space where people can freely express emotions and connect with others about what’s going on in their life. The word home makes me feel safe and secure. I get to release my emotions and talk to people about what is going on. That is home.
