Meaning of Home
I have moved around the country a lot. I moved from a hostile neighborhood filled with friends and thieves. I moved from a house with a perfect location but it was broken down to a house in the country. Every time it had a huge impact on my life. I lost friends that I will never see again. I had to go to new schools with new kids and new neighborhoods. It was terrifying every time. But I realized three important things. The first is that every time I moved, I realized that it doesn't matter where I go. My home will always be the people who care about me whether that be my friends, my nabors or my family. The second thing I realized while I was reading about people who don’t have a home is how lucky I am. Some people don’t have a house that keeps them warm or that shields them from the elements. Some people live on the streets. Some people are struggling to find their next meal while some people could feed 1000s of people but don’t. And the last thing I realized is that a house is a place that you spend your time at, but a home is the place you live. Thank you Habitat Humanity for helping people live a better life and for supporting lives.
