The Place We Call Home

Someone once said “It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home’’ which is deeply connected with my feelings regarding home; my safe haven! The warmth of the red bricked exterior, the tall glass windows and the double doors all add to its existence, but they merely just make it a house. Once past those doors, it's not the long passageway, the beautiful furniture, the breathtaking view that makes it home, it's the smell of the cookies being baked in the kitchen, the sound of the kids playing in the yard, and the adoring embrace of a loved one. After a day of hard work, studying, or just doing what needs to be done, that peaceful feeling of getting home begins with the journey itself. Just the thought of “home”, the love and comfort it brings along with it, makes you feel better and begins to elevate your mood and spirits. To have a place to call home and to have people to call family is indeed a blessing, one that I am fortunate to have and cherish forever.
