What is Home?

I was built a long time ago, From wood, blood, and sweat. I started off as a ludicrous idea, that turned into a controversial design. Every day my human would part at sunrise, return at sundown. He would drink some tea, and munch on bread every day, until. another human appeared. The first one was older. Every day he would part at sunrise, return at sundown. They would drink their tea and munch on bread. Never scarfing, always relishing each morsel. After, the big one would say, “This is not just your house, but your home.” Every day, until. The big human vanished from sight, but a small one arose in their stead. The second one was older. Every day he would part at sunrise, return at sundown. After, the big one would say, “This is not just your house, but your home.” Over time, I grew immensely, and my walls were given a fresh coat of another colour. I have changed vastly, and improved massively, but my home aspect did not change. Home is more than just a wooden or brick facade. Home is an impenetrable palace. Home is a safe haven. In your home you have rules to abide by, or chores to complete, or pets you take care of but you are with the people you love. A home has it all. A house just has doors to connect their rooms, while a home has doors to new chapters in your life. A house can change, but a home stays the same. There is no real substance that makes a home. A home is known for having the most exceptional sensation, of being yourself.
