What Home is For Me

Home isn't just where I live - it's where I feel like I belong. My Home is special because of the people surrounding me in it. It is a place where I can feel loved, warm, talented, and special. Being with my family is a big part of home for me, like when I am with my mom, who always makes me feel warm and loved. Or my dad and his great humor, and constantly helping me improve at things. And of course my sister always makes me laugh and feel happy, and she always helps me and will always be there for me. My Home is at the rink, playing ringette or lacrosse. But to me, it's doing or playing what I love with my best friends. When I walk into the rink and I hear the whistle and cheers, all my friends saying hi to me, that's when I feel like I belong. The rink became a second home to me a while ago because of memories and experiences with my friends, on and off the ice or floor. I think that the rink has become so important to me because of the fact that I will never be alone. I will always have a friend right there with me. Now with even more memories, being on more teams, and my friendships from ringette especially, home has expanded so much since I started. A lot of us have become family, even if we are not always on the same teams. What Home has always meant to me is now what I feel at the rink. Both the rink and my house are my homes because of the people and support I have around me.
