What Home Means to Me

There is more to a home than you think there is. For me, my house doesn't always feel like home. Sometimes, when I’m feeling stressed I picture where I want to be, like playing hockey or playing with friends. That often feels like home. I always feel loved and welcomed. My family and friends always make me feel that way. That feels a lot like home. Sometimes, my house is my home. Being with family and friends in my neighborhood feels like home. I love my life and all the experiences that make it special. I’ve made so many new friends. At school, that feels like home because I’m there every day, my friends are there, and I get all my education there. I would never want to leave that behind. My life is perfect the way it is, and of course I have this to work on. But, no matter what happens, all I need to know is I’m ok, I’m safe, and I’m loved. Some people can’t afford a home or anything else. I always remind myself of that and remember how lucky and fortunate I am. I hope that one day other people will be able to experience having a home and feeling comfortable and safe in it the way I do. In the future, I hope everyone will have a home and be able to afford stuff. I hope that everyone who is reading this will understand that I am a loving, caring, kind hearted girl. I love my home just the way it is. Also, I love the people that walk into it, like my sister, my mom, my dad, my dog and my old dog. That is what home means to me.
