The Feeling of Home

The word home can mean many things depending on who you ask. I have moved many times in my life. To me a home much more than a bunch of wood, bricks or cement. Just because you live in a house or have shelter doesn't make it a home. To me home is much more. It means the smell of my mom's cookies or pies when I walk in. The fun board games I play with my family. Home is the place where no matter how much we clean we will always have the hair of Zoltan and Levi, our golden retriever and yellow lab, on are clothes. Home is having my dogs beg for food under the table when I eat because I sneak them treats when nobody's looking. Home is a place that's safe and happy where I can sleep without a monster getting me from under the bed. It doesn't matter how fun of a vacation you have, home is a place where you can't wait to come back to. I’ve lived in all kinds of houses big and small but home is more than just a roof and walls. To me home is the best place ever, so thank you to Habitat for Humanity for allowing families a chance to turn a house into a home.
