What Home Means To Me
A house has bricks, metal, cinder, and a shed.
But a home has a family, and a warm bed.
A home is not something you live in.
But it is a place that you have been given.
It is not something made up of space.
It is yours and it is your own special place.
Home is the sound of a sizzling pan.
And has a feeling that you can't understand.
It is the crack of the bat coming from the tv.
And the taste of the food that fills you with glee.
A home is not a house and a house is not a home.
But in the first one you will never be alone.
Home is the sound of speakers singing a song.
And the sound of laughter that booms vibrant and strong.
It is a place where you can feel uplifted and free.
That is what home means to me.
