The Meaning of Home To Me

Home to me is not just a house. Home is family and friends. It is not just four walls and a chimney. No, it’s my community, my school, my friends and my family. When I am at home a special feeling comes over me, a feeling that no other place has. It is a warm feeling, a feeling of peace and comfort like no other. Home is a place where memories are made laughing around with your family. Home is not four walls and a chimney. No, home is where memories are made, songs are sung. Home can be a place to reflect on your day. When I think of home I think of the smell of latkes being fried, the sound of a crackling fire. A home is not just a few bricks and some wood. No, it is a place where memories live, where people love, where people cry, where you have no rules and you can just be you. To me home is a family. How my family can comfort me when times are tough, how they cheer you on all the time. But some people do not have a home if their family has passed away. Or if their home or their community has been destroyed. Some people just need a home to comfort them in their time of need. We as a country, as a nation, need to help everyone to feel at home because everyone deserves it. That is why we need you, Habitat for Humanity; to help those people that are in need of a nice, warm home to sleep in.
