Home is Not a House

A house is different from a home because a house has no memories, but a home has the warmth and love of your family. A home is where you lived for a long time and you have a lot of memories of that house, so it feels comfortable to live in. A house has no memories because it has been lived in for less than one year. A house seems bigger because it's empty and a home looks and feels smaller because it's full of memories like toys or drawings that you had when you were a little kid. The difference between a house and a home is that a house is a shell that provides shelter. A home, although it provides shelter like a house does, it is also a place that provides safety and comfort with the people you love. It doesn't matter the size of the house but what you fill it with. In my opinion, a home is not a house because in a home we have love, warmth and joy but not always because sometimes you might have a fight with a parent, sibling or a grandparent but they will always love you and help you along the way. It doesn't matter how fancy the house is on the outside, it matters about the joy, love and comfort of the home on the inside. The things that make a house into a home are laughter, comfort and also joy too. Without all those things, it would just be a house. Thank you, habitat for humanity for taking the time to read this. Thank you for building all those houses that one day will be turned into homes for families of Canada.
