A Home is Not a House

Home is not just walls and a roof; it is a place where memories are made. Home is where we have fun, where we laugh, and where we share love. At home, we play games, watch movies and watch shows, too. At my home, I have a mom, dad, brother, and dog. At dinnertime, we sit down together, eat and talk about our day and other things, too. We even give our dog his own dinner. In the summer of 2023, I had a family reunion and I got to meet so many people in my family. I never knew how big my family was until then. I was really happy to meet them all. I also played with my cousins who are my age. Home is a place where you can be yourself. At home, you can be happy, sad, mad, anxious and nervous. You can feel any way at home and feel like you are safe to express it. In wintertime, I go outside and play with my brother and my friends and have so much fun. Then I go home to my nice, warm house and drink a delicious, warm hot chocolate. I am happy that Habitat for Humanity helps people who are struggling to get a place they can call home.
