Addi wakes up to the sound of bacon sizzling and the smell of freshly cooked pancakes. She feels the soft touch of her blanket. She rushes downstairs and sits at the table while she pours syrup on her ooey gooey pancakes. She looks at the lake outside of her windows near the cat tree. She takes a big bite and finishes, and then after she plays with her dog Harlee. When she is done, she gets up and cleans her plate and her family drives her to her friend’s house. When she gets there, she wonders if this is what home is to them? in her mind she “says this house is small and her room is even smaller than mine.’’ When they are done hanging out, her family picks her up. On the way home she looks out the window and sees trees, and people walking with their dogs. They arrive home and her and her siblings do their chores, laughing and arguing about what is fair. When they finish their chores that they felt like they have been doing for years, their mom makes them an amazing sandwich. After they eat, they go and play. Two of them go outside the other two watch tv time flies when you are having fun. It feels like they have only been playing for 10 minutes, they come inside dinner is on the table girls, they all sit at the table and eat the amazing meal their mom has made. After they eat it all up, they clean their plates and watch a movie. They smell cookies, their mom and dad made them, cookies for dessert by the end of the day she lays in bed and thinks I wonder what home is to other people. What is home to you?
