Karl’s Home Days
Karl now lives in a Habitat for Humanity home and I’ll tell you how he got there. He had a cozy home in Saskatchewan. Then one day he went to get groceries with his son. When he got home, he saw that his house was on fire. He ran inside and his wife and daughter were screaming. He called 911 but it was too late.
One week later Karl and his son were driving to an apartment building. When the car beside them hit their car. Karl’s car fell into the ditch and flipped. Karl’s son wasn’t moving. Karl couldn’t feel his left arm. When he was in the hospital the doctor gave him more bad news his son died.
When Karl got out of the hospital, he was walking and saw a Habitat for Humanity building. He walked inside to see what it was about. It was just what he needed, an affordable home.
Karl ended up living a happy life and is still living there now.
What home means to me is safety, happiness, traditions, family, and memories.
