Meaning of Home
Home is more than just a place-it is where I feel safe, loved, and happy with my
family . When I am at home I feel safe. My home keeps me safe, protecting me from the
rain, snow, and harsh weather. When I leave my house that I have lived in for very long, it is
hard, but my family makes that place feel like home. My home is where I feel comfortable.
My house also makes my home, because it protects me and my family from natural
disasters. A house and a home are different. A house is a place that gives shelter, and a
home can be a feeling, a place, or a person. Everybody has a different definition of home, but
for me, this is my definition of home.
My parents protect me and they love me, and I love them. They do so many things
for me. They cook me food and buy me things. My dad works very hard for us, and he is
very busy. Even though he is busy, he takes me for my classes. My mom works a lot too;
she does house chores and spends time with me. My parents sacrifice their time for me.
Wherever my family is, I feel like that place is home. My parents and I do a lot of things
together. We watch movies, we talk with each other, and we laugh together. We go out to
many places, and we have a lot of fun. The memories that my parents and I create together
are what truly make my home.
My mom and dad make so many yummy foods, and they are so good! I feel love when
I hug my parents. I see my parents gathered on the sofa ready to watch a movie with me. I
hear my parents talking together joyfully. I smell the food my mom makes for dinner. These
are the five senses that make my home feel warm and full of love.
One last thing before I end this essay, is that thank you to Habitat for Humanity for
helping people with no homes by giving them a shelter. If I were one of those people, I would
be very grateful and thankful that you gave my family a shelter. And I feel happy for all the
people who got a home because of you.
