Home is Not a House

Home is not a house, so what is home? Home is a place people go to feel loved. Home is where you have memories of laughter with the people you love. Home can have sadness and anger but the ones who care will help you through it. Home doesn’t have to be your house it can be your best friend’s house, wherever you feel joy and care. A home doesn’t need four walls, a home needs comfort, somewhere you feel safe. Home can be where you hear your dogs’ barks or your cats’ meows. You might see your fish swimming or a hamster running in a wheel. Home could be where you help your mom cook dinner or where you play cards while watching a football game. It can be when you go play outside with your siblings or it could be where you have sleepovers with your friends. It’s where all your memories are shared! Home can be where you cuddle up with a blanket because you’re cold or when you turn the fan on because you’re too hot. A home can be dear to you, but the people inside can be dearer, the people inside of your home is what makes it a home. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity for getting people back on their feet.
