What home means to me

What home means to me Home /hom/ noun, A place where one lives permanently. When I think of the word home, I think of the place I sleep, eat and bathe. I also think of the place I feel most welcome, loved and safe. When I step into my home I hear lots of things, my brother being loud, the television, my dogs walking around, the sound of Sabrina Carpenter playing on my Alexa. To someone who doesn’t live with me, it might sound chaotic or strange but to me, these sounds are familiar, and my home would be strange without them. When I look at my home I see pictures of the past, pictures of my dogs, my parents, my great grandma, me and my brother and lots more. I also see my kitchen with a small bulletin board of jokes that I’ve heard a hundred times, my parents’ room with dog hair on every surface, my living room with toys all over the floor, my brothers’ room that he can never seem to clean, my room with the stained carpet from all the crafts I do. You may be wondering why I pointed out all these imperfections, because that’s what makes my home a home. The word home may be labeled as “A place where one lives permanently.” But it’s actually so much more than that.
