Meaning of Home

What a home is to me. To me a home is not a place to live or somewhere to sleep its anything that brings you joy. It’s the feeling that you will never be alone. It’s my best friend and I laughing because I fell off my bike. It’s the sound of my stepdad snoring on movie night. It’s being able to know that no matter how hard life will get you will always be able to laugh with your family the way you laughed five years ago, and you will be able to laugh the same in 10 years like the way you did when you were six. It’s the feeling of the burning sun on your face at the cottage as hot as the dinner your mom says will be warm. It’s the sound of giggles that fill your home at night, no screams, just laughs with no fright. It’s everything and anything that brings you joy. That feeling in your heart that’s warm and safe. It’s when you know you will never be alone no matter what, even if you fight with the ones you love. It’s knowing that in the hard times they will always be there. Home is very different for everyone, but this is what home is to me.
